Where Does Your Junk Actually Go?

Eco-Friendly Junk Removal in Northern Colorado

Most people think junk removal means "load it and dump it."
But what actually happens after the 3 Peaks truck pulls away?

Here’s the truth — your junk doesn’t just disappear.
In fact, much of what we haul never touches a landfill. We carefully sort, recycle, repurpose, and donate whenever possible — and today, we’re taking you behind the scenes to show you exactly how that works.

🌎 Why This Matters

Most homeowners want to do the right thing — but don’t know where to take old furniture, appliances, or scrap materials.

That’s why 3 Peaks Junk Removal & Hauling has created partnerships across Northern Colorado donation centers, recycling facilities, metal yards, and local non-profits — to keep reusable items in circulation and reduce landfill waste.

🛠 How Your Junk Gets Sorted — The 3 Peaks Process

1️⃣ Collection & Pre-Sorting (On-Site)

At the job site, we separate metal, reusable furniture, appliances, donation-quality goods, and true waste.
This helps reduce landfill trips — and lowers dump fees for you.

2️⃣ Donation Screening

📦 Items we donate or repurpose:

  • Working appliances

  • Old but solid furniture

  • Fitness equipment

  • Tools and household goods

  • Lumber, cabinets, doors, vanities (remodel salvage)

Local donation partners include:

4️⃣ Responsible Disposal (Only What’s Left)

Only items that cannot be recycled, repurposed, or salvaged are sent to permitted disposal sites like:

  • Weld County Landfill

  • Larimer County Waste Transfer Station

Even then, we minimize volume by breaking down bulky materials before disposal.
